What the book does
Most books in this category promise that a better understanding of the opposite sex will get you a better relationship. The largest study ever conducted on relationship quality — 11,196 couples, 43 datasets, 2,413 measures — found that the properties of the person you choose contributed nothing detectable.
So this book makes a narrower claim. Getting the other sex right will not make your relationship good. It may determine whether you have one, and it will change how accurately you read the one you are in.
