Kenneth M. F. McGrath is the founder and sole operator of CIONAOD Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian multimedia publishing company based in Ottawa. He works across publishing, standards development, instructional design and application development, and writes fiction and poetry under the pen name Cionaod. He is also a working bookbinder.
Wrong About Each Other began as an argument he kept losing. Two people would describe the same dating market in ways that could not both be true, each with real evidence, and neither able to hear the other. The book is an attempt to work out what was actually producing that — and the answer turned out to have very little to do with how different men and women are.

Sue McGarvie is a clinical sex and relationship counsellor who has practised in Ottawa for over two decades. She is the author of several books on sex and relationships, a broadcaster best known for the long-running call-in show Sunday Night Sex With Sue, and the founder of a number of ventures built around helping adults find connection.
She has spent those years listening to men and women describe the same dating world in incompatible terms — which is the observation this book is built on. Her foreword is the practitioner's account of the phenomenon the research then explains.
Nearly everything in these pages is drawn from published research rather than from clinical experience, which is a strength and also a limitation. Sue has watched the pattern happen in front of her, in real people, for twenty years. If the argument in this book is right, she should recognise it. If she does not, that is worth knowing before you read any further.

This book argues that people hold confident beliefs assembled from unrepresentative evidence. It would be absurd to publish that and then treat our own claims as settled. Where a claim here is a prediction rather than a finding, the sources page says so, the prediction is stated in advance, and the result gets published either way.
